Description
The Control Point opened first solely for cross-boundary trucks in August 2020, then in February 2023, with the lifting of COVID-19 control measures in Mainland China, opened to passenger traffic as well. In preparation for high cross-boundary traffic volumes during the Labour Day holiday in May, the Customs, Police, and Immigration Departments as well as other related departments established and activated an inter-departmental joint command centre to monitor the situation at all land border control points. They will also maintain close contact with their counterparts in the Mainland to take timely response measures.
