The Public Health Laboratory Centre,
Pak Tin

Elephant has recently completed the replacement of the audio-visuals system at the Exhibition Hall and Lecture Theatre of the Public Health Laboratory Centre, in Pak Tin, Kowloon.

The Public Health Laboratory Centre, designed and built in 2002 by the Architectural Services Department, is as multi-functional building of 3 office floors, 7 laboratory floors and supporting facilities including a carpark, cold rooms, cultivation / incubation rooms, autoclaves, conference / seminar rooms and a multi-purpose hall. The Laboratory Centre, with centralised accommodation for the pathology and pharmaceutical services of the Department of Health and the hygiene services of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, aims to foster better co-ordination and expedite investigation of and prompt response to infectious diseases. The Centre plays a significant role in serving the community, providing public health testing, research and diseases control services.

The new AV system assists the Centre of Health Protection, working as an integral part of the Department of Health, to host lectures and conferences of all scales.
